Dear Monty,
We just moved into a new house and we have this wacky tree in our backyard. We’re trying to figure out what kind of tree it is so we can determine if it breathes through its leaves or its roots before we get down to some serious landscaping. What do you think is the [...]

monty is displeased
…with the lack of comments from you, his readers.
He is aware of his small following (he reviews the blog stats) but has expressed his displeasure with the lack of participation from his minions. As a cat bent on world domination (by persuading everyone to do his bidding through the evil means of being cute), [...]

monty hospitalized
One week after Monty was adopted, he started grooming himself. I was told this was a good sign and showed he has become comfortable in his environment. It also meant that I had to brush him a lot less and that there would be much less shedding on my furniture and clothes!
Last Sunday [...]

Monty has made himself comfortable inside my mattress spring box this week. It seems he spends all his time inside it while I’m at work. It didn’t bother me because the plan was to staple the cover underneath back onto the frame this weekend. Yesterday, when I came home, I immediately looked under my bed [...]

It’s difficult enough to find an affordable apartment located in a desirable location in Vancouver, but it’s even more challenging to find one that will allow pets. I moved into my apartment where I was not allowed to have a pet. However, after about 6 months when I knew I’m in my landlord’s [...]

As I’ve mentioned earlier this week, Monty has opened the bottom cover of my mattress spring box and now use it as a hammock. It’s usually where I find him sleeping when I come home from work. Yesterday I decided to take a picture of him inside it…completely forgetting to turn off the [...]

monty’s first vet visit
On Monday July 14th at about 6:30PM, Monty had a physical checkup (with Dr. Janet Adam at the Granville Island Veterinary Hospital) for the first time since his adoption from the shelter.
When I got home, I’m sure Monty knew his doom was at hand. He hid deep inside my box spring and would not budge. [...]

on finding missing cats…
I’ve learned that if your cat is missing, and there is no way he could have ran outside, check to see if he has turned the bottom cover of your box spring into a hammock.

There has been some interest to see a size comparison of my big cat and myself. I’ve compiled photos for you [...]

Monty is the biggest, fluffiest, most orange cat you'll ever see. He’s also the sweetest, nicest cat in the world! He is better than your cat.
Monty was adopted from the SPCA on July 2008. This blog is intended to keep friends, family and anyone interested updated on Monty's adjustment process and daily adventures.
